We miss the ones whom have departed this realm, but we can take some comfort in the knowing that we will all be reunited in the fullness of time. No doubt nana will have an endless supply of tea, & grandad will dish out his biscuits cuz. As the eldest of Ken & Zona Morgan's grandchildren, I honour you Morgan with one of my poems;

YOU LEFT BEFORE YOUR TIME

You left before your time,
it became my quest to find you,
I sailed the seven seas,
I soared with heavenly creatures,
Seraphim and Cherubim,
catching the four winds of hope,
yet it all come to nought.

I built a stairway to heaven,
adorned with visions of you,
shedding blood sweat & tears,
I could give no more,
so I set out to transcend the great divide,
but alas I slipped upon my dreams,
& drowned in the anguish of despair,
searching my overwhelmed spirit,
yet still the hands of time,
fell silent,
you left before your time.

Resigned to this hallowed truth,
I closed my eyes to meditate,
purging my very essence,
I entered the castle of my heart,
seeking refuge within the fortifications,
no one could ever storm these ramparts.

And so I was a broken soul,
& I wept so,
& while I occupy this mortal fabric,
I will never see you smile,
never hold your hand,
never swim in the ocean of your eyes,
& never hear you whisper,
I love you.

Visions of boundless beauty,
permeate my memories,
like the timeless scent of lilac fields,
or your haunting reflection,
upon a shimmering body of water,
these memories are all I have to hold,
& so within this forlorn incarceration,
I will look up to you,
from this tiny window in my heart,
& as long as there is breathe within this body,
I shall love you til the hands of time,
fall silent upon my wary soul.
