Molly MOORHEAD Obituary
(formerly Prendergast
nee Gibson):
On October 19, 2014, peacefully surrounded by loving family, in her 86th year. Native of Todmorden, England. Loved daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys Gibson, beloved wife of the late Geordie, sister and sister-in-law of Margaret and Don Brown (Cyprus). Wonderful mother and mother-in-law of Philip and Tarlin, Ann, Pat and Janet, Liz and Jeff, and Louise and Fred, adored grandma of Eru, Te Ari, and Miriama; Sam, and Michael; Victoria, Harriet, and the late Olivia; Lewis, Miles, and Jamesa; and Bridget, and Joseph; and a much loved great-grandma. Sincere thanks to Dr Paul O'Gorman and all the staff at Anthony Wilding Retirement Village. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Dr Molly Moorhead, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. The Service to Celebrate Dr Molly's life will be held at St James' Anglican Church, Southbridge, Tomorrow (Wednesday), October 22, at 1.00pm. Private interment thereafter.

Dr Molly - you were my hero and my inspiration. A solo mum when they were unheard of - and working!!! I often thought of you and found strength in your achievements when my life got tough. A truly amazing woman.

Molly was a much loved and respected Southbridge 'local.' You, her family, are a wonderful legacy to her, she was so proud of you all. I remember Molly for her kindnesses, her fun, friendship, empathy and compassion as well as her enormous sense of adventure and courage. She always took time to really listen to people and respond with compassion. She gave of her TIME. I will also remember the beautiful bunches of roses she grew and gave so generously. A wonderful woman who did so much for the people of Southbridge,..always there when she was needed the most. I'm forever thankful for the great job she made of stitching up my left arm when I fell through a pane of glass. Rest Peacefully Dr. Molly.
