My deepest sympathies to family and friends.

For me there is some consolation in the manner in which Michelle made the world a better, more secure and equitable place in everything she did. Although she has left all too early she has left a huge legacy.

Although a lot has been said of the tireless commitment Michelle has made to community recovery after the earthquakes, more should be said about her leadership roles in the initial responses. More certainly should be said about the commitment, in the face of institutional resistance, to preparing the organisations she was responsible for and worked with as partners in readiness for just the sort of disaster that the earthquakes and their aftermath became.

Michelle, your example and strength will live on in all you have touched, directly and indirectly.

So very sorry to learn of the loss of Michelle, my thoughts are with you all. I'm sure the love and support of your family and friends will help you through this sad time.

I am so sad to read this notice. Michelle was respected very much as a Manager at The Ministry of Social Development. She was a very caring person and a pleasure to work with.

Michelle I simply cannot believe you are gone, taken far too soon. It has been a while since we caught up but the memories of you are strong, the years working together and the fun times. You liked to laugh and had such a great sense of fun. My enduring memory of you is the love you had for your family, the pride on your face and in your voice when you talked about your children.
