WARD, Michael Joseph:
Peacefully at home on June 9, 2023; aged 75 years. Dearly beloved youngest child of the late Nonie and Ted Ward. Dearly loved brother of Sr Margaret RSM (deceased), Monsignor Patrick (deceased), Edward and Norah. Much loved brother-in-law of Tom Patterson (deceased). A loved and special uncle of Anne-Maree, Christopher and Sarah; Michael, Jane, Kenneth, Mary, Susan and Thomas and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Special thanks to Michael's carers for their love and support especially Anna, Sue, Denisse, Liz, Rocio, Sheree, Susan and Stacey.
May he rest in peace.
Messages to the Ward family c/- 19 London Street, Christchurch 8013. In lieu of flowers donations to the Society of St Vincent de Paul, Christchurch would be appreciated and may be made online only via their website. A Requiem Mass for Michael will be celebrated at Christ The King Catholic Church, 90 Greers Road, Burnside, Christchurch, (Tomorrow) Wednesday, at 11.00am, followed by a private cremation. Very sad news to hear of Michaels passing.He was very much a part of the great links forged with us here in Ireland.Michael stayed in our home in Mullingar, Our mam Kathleen often spoke fondly of her New Zealand uncles and cousins.Our deepest condolences from us here in County Kildare.

To Norah, Ted and the Ward family, our heartfelt sympathies to you all on the passing of your much loved Michael. He was always warm and welcoming during family holidays to New Zealand. Brian and I fondly remember his visit to our home in Donegal with Thomas and Jo. We know you will miss terribly him but remember the many happy memories you have of Michael - this will give you strength.

Deepest sympathy to Michael's family. I met him in Timaru late 60s ,played together for Celtic,great times and been friends since. Unfortunately he was dealt some bad cards in later life but he was always smiling in his quiet demeanor. Rest in peace Mikke you will be remembered
