Michael McDERMOTT Obituary

On August 6, 2025 at Calvary Hospital, Melbourne, aged 55 years. Peace at last after a lengthy illness. Dearly loved husband of Tracy Mansell, and adored father and best friend of Kinnon and Cushla. Much loved son of Mary and Barry McDermott, and son-in-law of Aileen Mansell, loved brother and brother-in-law of Helen and Peter, Cushla and Mike, Louise and Steve, John and Bronwyn, Catherine and Duncan, Kerry and Jim, and Kim and Paul. A fun-loving Uncle of his many nieces and nephews, and a great friend to many. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Kia Kaha Mike, may the force be with you.

A celebration of Mike's life will be held in both Melbourne and Christchurch, details will follow. Messages may be addressed to the McDermott family, c/- 43 Barrington St, Christchurch 8024.

To the McDermott family.
How sad for you to have lost Mike.
We have very fond memories of him.
He was very kind, loving and considerate to Andrea throughout their time together and gave her some very special times when she was so unwell.
It was very touching of Mike to come over to attend Trev´s funeral.
He was a wonderful person.
Rest peacefully Mike.
