Dear Ann and family,
I was greatly saddened yesterday to learn of Mike's passing. I fondly remember a most helpful colleague in the HK judiciary and a wonderful friend with whom I shared many enjoyable leisure moments on the golf course. I recall sitting in the court next to Mike's in the Western Magistracy many years ago. He will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew him. My condolences to Ann and the Hill family on their sad loss.

Anne
I was deeply saddened to hear that Mike had passed away.
I feel for you all, he was a great man with such an appealing character, sharp mind and awareness of the strengths and weaknesses of people around him.
( and a most infectious laugh and sense of humour )
He certainly featured as an influence in my life and I well remember his toast at my wedding, along with his contribution to many other memorable gatherings between our families in the Keneperu.
His voice was so distinctive I could clearly decipher him among the thousands at the Hong Kong sevens and I will never forget his commanding presence in the court room in HK the following day.
It was great to see you both, by chance, in Picton not so long ago
Please accept my condolences

Dear Aunty Ann and family,

Our thoughts and hearts are with you with the loss of our dear Uncle Mike. He was always the life and soul of family gatherings who had the wit and personality to send an eager listening crowd into hysterics. Great man and a great uncle, who will be sadly missed. God Bless.

Love David, Katrina and Grace
