Paul SHERSON Obituary
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in his 81st year. Much loved and devoted husband of Eileen for over 60 years. Caring father and father-in-law of Simon and Susan, Richard and Jo. Adored Grandfather of Grania, Connor and Brenna, and Great-grandfather of Layla, Theo and Ever. Cherished brother of John, Brenda, Gail and Julie. Thank you to all the staff at Admatha Care Centre for the exceptional care given to Paul. Our family will be forever grateful. Messages to 58 Coleridge Street, Sydenham, Christchurch 8023. As per Paul's request, a Private Cremation has been held.

When we were a young Air Force family, the Shersons were near neighbours for a time.
When we were a great deal older and no longer an Air Force family, we were blessed to have Paul and Eileen as our near neighbours as Christchurch shuddered and threatened us.
To you Eileen, know how grateful we were that you could share Paul with us. His humour and conversation lightened our days. What a loss.

Paul was a great friend and fellow 5 Sqn aircrew member. We both shared a vision of upgrades to the then P3B Orion.

To Eileen and all the family, I offer my sincere condolences. I have many childhood memories when John and Paul lived at Waiterimu. One memory I have of Paul was when he was stationed at Ohakea Air Base. My father and I visited the Base and were taken on a tour by Paul. We noticed all the Personnel saluting him and when we asked what was that all about, he proudly told us that it was required of them to salute him as he was a Commissioned Officer. We dined on that story for a long time!
