Ivan Hedley

Apart from family affairs, I've not seen Mervyn for many years.
My father Bernard Hedley was Mervyns cousin and my memories are mainly from when I was young.
Mervyn used to work for the dairy board and would often have dinner at our home when in Palmerston North.
My father and him would reminisce about their childhoods in the South island and we learnt a lot just listening to them both recount family history.
From memory he used to smoke a pipe, but I may be mistaken.
My deepest sympathy to Marion and family, Mervyn was a true gentleman and a genuine guy,

Many years ago Merv explained to Carol the difference between homogenised milk and ordinary milk. Merv was a member of Belfast Redwood parish, now NW ChCH. He was firm in his beliefs and an active member of our parish.
May the extended family remember all his character and the great times you shared together.
