Merilyn FORSYTH Obituary

On February 17, 2025, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, aged 78 years. Devoted wife and soulmate of the late Bill, darling and most precious Mum of Zara and Carlo, Jade and Craig, adored Nanna of Lucca, Matteo; Cole, and Miliana.

"Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts"

Special thanks to Dr Mark Cohen, and the Medical Day Unit at Christchurch Public Hospital, for all the care and support given to Merilyn and family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canterbury Charity Hospital Trust can be made online to: charityhospital.org.nz. A funeral service in celebration of Merilyn's life will be held at St Marks Presbyterian Church, 150 Withells Road, Avonhead, on Tuesday, February 25, at 2.00pm, followed by a private cremation. Please wear your most flamboyant best, to celebrate a life well lived.

Please accept my deepest condolences in the passing of a devoted Mother, mother-in-law and grandmother and friend of many. I grew up in Ashburton before moving to Australia in 1967 and went through primary school & often played with Merilyn & her friend Wendy and have many wonderful memories of times at the house being treated to cakes etc by Mrs Weir who was a beautiful soul. Merilyn has amazed everyone with her battle through life with asthma and been such a strong lady. Sending love & deepest sympathy to you all, and may she RIP
