Maurice made a significant contribution to Aotearoa New Zealand Association (ANZASW) over many years. He was the President of the Canterbury Branch for many years. His lasting legacy was the Chair of the inaugural Board of Competency. In this role Maurice guided the development of the ANZASW Competency Assessment Programme which exists to this day.
Members have talked of his generosity of spirit, his exceptionally wise and sound opinions and his unstinting and considered support for the Registration Committee and the profession transitioned to statutory registration of social workers.
Rest in peace.

Maurice is the unsung hero of the ANZASW Competency programme - his influence and ability to steer things along was inspirational. He has touched countless lives throughout his life. He is owed admiration and total respect as a man.
