Maurice KIDD Obituary
Passed away November 9, 2021, at home peacefully and in comfort after a short illness. He was surrounded by his family. In accordance with his wishes a private cremation has been held, his ashes to be scattered on the western slopes of Mt Tahua. A celebration of his life will be held this Saturday, November 13, at his home at 2.00pm. Maurice was an Artist, a Dad, a partner, a Grandad, a friend, a brother, a nephew, a fisherman, a mountaineer, a sportsman, a list maker, an avid joke teller and a damn fine man.
We will miss him dearly.

Sad and unexpected news. Maurice and I became friends at CBHS and enjoyed playing hockey together in the first eleven.
We studied together at Canterbury University and we have enjoyed meeting up when I visited Christchurch over the last few years. I enjoyed the conversations. He was a gifted artist, interested in the world, well read and I will miss his friendship.

My condolences to the Kidd family.
I worked with Maurice at the Court Theatre many moons ago and enjoyed his wry humour, his gentle way and kindness.
He'll be greatly missed. RIP Maurice.

Sad to hear this news. Grew up with Maurice firstly as a neighbour and then as a class mate at both Wharenui Primary and then at Christchurch Boys High. A damn good teammate in HSOB Premier hockey team in the 70's and always enjoyed his input and company in the Grosvenor cricket team.where we had a lot of fun. RIP my friend
