Maureen WINTON-SMITH Obituary

Passed away peacefully with family by her side on January 28, 2026 in Christchurch, aged 89. Beloved wife of Howard (deceased). Loved mother and mother-in-law of Blair and Penny. Dearly loved Nana of Mitchell, Piper and Zoe. Much loved sister to Kevin, Phillip, Jocelyn and Judith (deceased), and favourite Aunty to her nieces and nephews. A private cremation has taken place to honour Maureen's wishes and she will join Howard in Wanaka. Special thanks to all the staff at Wesley Care, Christchurch, for their kindness and care of Mum. We at the Canterbury Folk Art Guild to hear of the passing of Maureen, who was a long standing member of the Guild. She was a great Folk Artist and teacher. She will be missed

We are so sorry to hear that Maureen has passed Howard and Maureen were so very kind to us we were younger and that will never be forgotten and we always had a friendship even though over the years there were spaces. So Blair and family you have our deepest sympathy Andy and Lorraine Joines
