I have received many emails from Paparoa Street School classmates of Maryann and would like to share them with the family. Jocelyn Muir (Winfield) remembers Maryann fondly as such a vivacious kid. Margaret Holmes (Saunders) remembers her as such a sweet girl who was friends with so many of her classmates. Mary Conly expressed condolences, as did Lynne Robertshaw (Crowe). Juliet Smythe (Taylor) said Maryann was so vibrant with gorgeous curls and dimples. Pam Symes (Strachan) said how blessed we all are to have known vibrant and agile young Maryann. Karen Lassen (Broughton) said she was so sorry to hear the news and that Maryann was a gorgeous girl. She has memories of Maryann trying to teach her to be a graceful little ballerina like her. A futile exercise!. Neville Tudehope was so sorry to hear of Maryann's passing and said she was certainly a trouper. Geoff Ellis said he had his first date with Maryann on her 6th birthday, to the Century Theatre to watch Bambi. He said Mrs Guthrie sat between the two of them. Paul Whitehead said Maryann was his neighbour and friend the entire time he lived in Christchurch. He said they were very close and he is very sad to hear of her untimely end. Richard Yardley said he and Derry Barnard were just recently talking about Maryann. My memory (Joan Hicks (Kavanagh) of Maryann was her beautiful curls and friendly nature. We will all miss her at the class reunions. Our deepest condolences to her family.
