Mary WITTEMAN Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Isobel Witteman, who died on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Ngaio Marsh Rest Home, aged 96 years. Beloved wife of the late Anton Witteman and daughter of the late Paddy and Annie Fox. Cherished Mum of Pat and Deb Witteman, Marie Fenton, Arni and Alf Smit, Jacky and Doug Harris, and the late Catherine, and Andrea. Adored Nana of her eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and great-great-grandson. Fondly remembered by her sister Rita Peterson; her brothers: the late George, Pat, Henry, and Phil Fox; and all her Dutch and Kiwi in-laws, nieces and nephews, and the many friends she made along the way. Thank you to the staff of Ngaio Marsh for the care and kindness shown to Mary in her last months. In lieu of flowers, please think of Mary when next passing a charity collector and make a donation on her behalf. Messages to the Witteman family, c/- PO Box 10345, Christchurch 8145. The Rosary will be said in St Anne's Catholic Church, 739 Ferry Road, on Monday, June 16, at 6.00pm. A Requiem Mass will be held in St Anne's Catholic Church, on Tuesday, June 17, at midday.
Burial at Bromley Cemetery thereafter.
