Nana, I'm glad I got to see you when I was home earlier this year, but still really sad that I can't be there today.
I know that you would want me to carry on and go and have an amazing time at Oktoberfest in Munich this weekend.

I loved sharing our passion for travelling and ever since I was small, thoroughly enjoyed hearing about all the places you had been and now I have been to them all too!
Another passion we shared was a love of music. You always had your Daniel O'Donnell or your Andre Rieu on whenever we came to visit. Bree still brings up and remembers so clearly when you took her, Sam and myself to Cinderella: The Ballet at the Isaac Theatre Royal. This was a big deal for us because not only were we little Kaikoura girls on a big trip to Christchurch, but it was the first professional show that we ever went to. We had an amazing time! We got dressed up in our best dresses, went out for a special lunch and saw the amazing show! It was a highlight of our childhoods!

Nana, you were also a fantastic baker and you made the best melt in your mouth chocolate chip biscuits! Dad would always say he was off for a quiet drink with you, meaning a coffee and several of your biscuits.

Us kids all used to love playing in the tree house in your back garden. Myself, Breanna, Sophie, Sam and Hamish could spend hours back there and it was always great fun when Hannah and Charlie were over from Australia too.

You had a beautiful rose garden and Dad loved helping out and pottering in the garden. He also loved sitting out on your deck and looking out to the ocean from up there.

We have lots of special memories with you Nana and are glad that you are at peace now.
