Mary REDDING Obituary
Passed peacefully at Nazareth House, Christchurch, on October 22, 2024, aged 82 years. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Brian (Barney) Redding, and dearly loved sister of the late Margaret and the late Dale Clifford, and twin sister of the late John Cliff. Mary was the cherished Aunty Mary to Leo and Donna Clifford, and their children George and Max; Rose and John Crossland and their daughter Molly; Tony and Julie Clifford and their children Sam, Alex, Cassandra and Rochelle; and Phillippa and Brendon O'Connor and their children Sabine, Seth and Ben. Mary was truly a gift to us all. Special appreciation to the staff of Nazareth House for their beautiful care of Mary. Sad to see the passing of an old school mate plus a wonderful adversary in the field of music. She helped me out in times of musical events with her gentleness and instructive criticisms. Sleep well dear Mary.

Mary was a gifted musician, and often used to check my performance pieces were perfect before I sat major piano exams. She was a skilled but gentle critic. She was also a loved member of the Lynch/Redding branch of my extended family, and dear Barney was my godfather. May she rest in peace surrounded by glorious music. RIP
