Olympian Athlete

On November 5, 2024, unexpectedly passed away in her sleep at home, aged 88 years. Cherished and dearly loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend of; Marissa and Dean, Louise and Andrew, Joss and Finley, Brooke, Kerry and Joe (Aust). Loved Aunt of Blaise and Heidi, Brad and Holly, Loved sister and sister-in-law of Dawn (dec), Wayne (dec), Sandra and Dorothy, Sharon and Gerry (dec) (USA), Michael and Lynda. You touched each and everyone with your authenticity, inspiration and generosity, positivity, strength of character and solid principles. Your wisdom, empathy, faith and strength of forgiveness and unwavering resolve and acceptance to live the gift of life despite everything. We love you, and know you are safe and at peace waiting for the resurrection that you so strongly believed in with your faith, and lived your life by as a Jehovah's witness. Let your Kingdom come Matthew 6 v 10. Messages c/- the Schou / Stephen family to 78 Brisbane Street, Waltham, Christchurch 8023. A private cremation has been held. A memorial celebration of Marise's life to be held at a later date to be advised.

I can still remember watching in awe as you swept around that old grass track at Ensors Road in the evenings. That was over 60 years ago but I have never forgotten. You were amazing.
Rest in peace, Champ.
