Margaret WARDLE Obituary
Margaret died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in her 93rd year. Loving wife of Peter Wardle, mother to Penny and Rob, and mother-in-law to Kate Wardle. Much loved by her grandchildren Alexandra, Charlotte and Amelia Peter; and Annie Wardle, great-grandmother to Gus and Finn Mackenzie, loved sister of Patricia, Bill, Geoffery and David, and their respective partners Michael, Allison, Faye and Anne. A special thanks to the staff and carers at Leslie Groves Hospital, Dunedin, for their kindness to Margaret over the last 10 months. A Memorial Service for Margaret will be held in The Cellar Door, 143 Centennial Avenue, Alexandra, at 2.00pm on Thursday, June 19. Margaret and Peter were happiest in the outdoors. In lieu of flowers, donations to Native Forest Restoration Trust nfrt.org.nz would be appreciated.

Margaret
When we twins were born we had two older sisters, and each chose a twin to look after. Margaret chose me and she became my mentor over the years.
She taught me many skills for which I am very grateful and fully appreciative. Typically, one of these was how to ride a bike, and she introduced me to skiing at the North Canterbury Ski Club where she and Peter were members. These skills along with others have proved very useful.
She was a lovely sister and I have many fond memories of growing up together.
May she rest in peace.
