We last saw each other 2 years ago, when you took us to the airport in Christchurch. We enjoyed your hospitality and conviviality, we would have liked to experience this again. You were not easy to have your picture taken, and when Hank or I were talking about something, you listened carefully and, if necessary, provided materials that we talked about. We share your love for jigsaw puzzles. Nice to see that you were able to conjure up all the Wasgij puzzles from all corners of your house. And your love for airplanes surprised us. I really got to know you well during that period, and I really wish Piet, Jason, and the rest of the family a lot of strength!

2 jaar geleden hebben we elkaar voor het laatst gezien, toen jullie ons naar het vliegveld brachten in Christchurch. We hebben genoten van jullie gastvrijheid en gezelligheid, dit hadden we graag nogmaals willen beleven. Jij liet je niet gemakkelijk op de foto zetten, en als Hank of ik het ergens over hadden, luisterde je goed en kwam indien nodig met materialen aanzetten, waar wij over spraken. Jouw liefde voor legpuzzels delen we. Mooi om te zien dat je gewoon alle Wasgij puzzels uit alle hoeken van jullie huis tevoorschijn kon toveren. En je liefde voor vliegtuigen, dat heeft ons verrast. Ik heb je in die periode pas echt goed leren kennen, en ik wens Piet, Jason, en de rest van de famillie echt heel veel sterkte toe!
