Donald McNicol

January 27, 2026

Margaret lived beside us (the McNicol family) on Caledonia Road, Saltcoats until we moved to Arran in 1961. She was always very helpful to the three McNicol children, Donald, Ailsa and Ann. In fact she probably spent more time with the children than their mother did, even though Margaret was busy running the McCulloch family business. My memory of Margaret is of a strong, intelligent and very capable woman. It has always been on my bucket list to go to New Zealand to see her but now it is too late. Donald McNicol
