6.8.1921 – 24.7.2025


Affectionately known by all as 'Meg'. Quietly passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 after an incredibly long and engaged life. Much loved matriarch of the Bayley and Anderson clans, a massive presence in all our lives. Much loved aunt to Michael, Roger, Pippa, Tim, Mark, Sarah and Bridgit. Cherished great-aunt to Chris, Steven, Matthew, Megan, Fiona, Bindy, Nicki, Katherine, Elizabeth, Hamish and Doug. Adored great-great aunt to Olly, Sierra, Hana, Tom, Ethan, Addie, Addison, Alice, Tessa, Bruce, Spencer, Abigail, Dorian, Anika and Serena. Meg spread her net wide, capturing the hearts of many, and has left behind a wealth of memories and hilarity to be cherished. The family would like to thank the Nurse Maude Care Home for their outstanding care of Meg. As per her wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations to Canterbury Medical Research Foundation would be appreciated. They can be made online at www.cmrf.org.nz . A private cremation has taken place. Messages to the family of Meg Anderson c/- PO Box 26051 North Avon, Christchurch 8148. A service in celebration of her long and wonderful life will be held at All Souls Church, 30 Church Lane, Merivale, on Friday, August 15, at 2.00pm.

Such a privilege to have known Meg, she was a cousin of my mother Peggy Anderson and I was so pleased to have spent time with her a few days before her 100th birthday.
