Malcolm CLARBROUGH Obituary

With heavy hearts Margaret, Ben, Sarah, Otis, and Ari would like to inform friends of Mal's passing, at Edith Cavell Lifecare in Sumner, on March 14, 2025. Our sincere thanks go out to all of the medical and health care professionals and teams who assisted us with Mal's journey. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hinewai Reserve (Maurice White Native Forest Trust) would be appreciated and may be made online at hinewai.org.nz. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Mal Clarbrough, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. An informal gathering of family and friends to farewell Mal, will be held at Mt Pleasant Community Centre, 3 McCormacks Bay Road, Mt Pleasant, on Tuesday, March 18, at 1.30pm.

What a lovely man Mal was. A great friend to Mum and Dad. So glad we had chance to see you when you popped into Twizel often to visit. My thoughts are especially with you Margaret and Ben (and family too). Hoping the lots of wonderful memories sustain you. Arohanui, Robyn (&Peter and Annemarie too).

I worked for the MC National Park Board in the seventies and eighties (and DOC in the nineties) and Mal and Margaret were my neighbours (and work colleagues). Lots of memories and interactions with Mal. A great bloke, sorry to hear that he has left us. Love and strength to I you Margaret and family. I wish I could locate the photo of Ben I had at my side in the front end loader in 1978.

I worked with Mal at Mt Cook in 1974. I always liked him; he was a good bloke with a great sense of humour. Love and condolences to Margaret and family.
