Malcolm BEGG Obituary

BEGG, Malcolm George:
Passed away peacefully at home in his sleep, on Monday, January 23, 2017, in his 68th year. Much loved husband of Adrienne for 46 years, dearly loved father and father-in-law of Jayne and Rod Macdonald (Queenstown), Stuart, Sarah and Ahmed Ghanem (Oamaru), loved and cherished grandad of Courtney, Maddison; Taylor; Jasmin, and Zahara. Loved and respected brother and brother-in-law of Dianne and Lindsay Westaway, Paddy and Roy Craig, Barry and Alison Begg, Lorraine and Grant Sellers, Vivienne and Peter Fitzgerald, and a loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. The family wish to thank Dean Harris, Marie and the nursing staff at Oncology, Christchurch Hospital for their support and care over the last 13 months. To the Malvern District Nurses, Mary, Steph, and Belinda, without your help Malcolm could not have been nursed at home. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Malcolm Begg, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In lieu of flowers, donations to Malvern Health Trust (Darfield District Nursing) would be appreciated, and may be made at the Service. The Celebration of Malcolm's life will be held in the Kirwee Community Hall, High Street, Kirwee, Tomorrow (Friday), at 2.30pm. Private cremation thereafter.

I have only just learned Malcolm has died. A fine man, energetic and determined, committed to the wellbeing of his community. Our thoughts are with Adrienne and her family.

I was shocked to hear of Malcolm's death and will always think of him as the great tennis and hockey player that he was. Sandy and I send sincere sympathy to you Adrienne and all Malcolm's loved ones. Thinking of you all Roberta.
