Mackley Herbert:
Crossed his last bridge peacefully on Christmas Day, 2014, aged 89. Much loved husband of the late June, treasured father and father-in-law of Lesley and Jeff, Chris and Mart, Mackley and Debbie, Judith and Allan, and Graham and Sue, cherished grandfather and great-grandfather of Olivia, Charlotte, Brittany, Frank, Matthew, Rachael, Fergus, Mackley, James, Sarah, Elliott, Lydia, Ingrid, Jason, Stevie, Meg and their children, loved brother of Jim, Jean, Eila, David, and the late Ron, George, Gordon, and Jack. Mack, a loyal friend and true pioneer. Dulcius ex asperis. Messages to 80 Rutherglen Road, Paroa, Greymouth 7805. A Service to celebrate Mackley's life will be held in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Tainui Street, Greymouth, This Day (Monday) at 2.00pm, followed by burial with his wife at the Karoro Cemetery.

Such a lovely service in remembrance for a Father, Grandad, Great Grandfather & friend to all. I'm so honoured to have met you Grandad Mackley. I promise you, I will keep you forever in Matts memories and his family. He speaks of you highly and have certainly passed your genes down through him, so I thank you for being a big part in his life we will treasure in our hearts forever.

My condolences to the Ferguson family, a true West Coaster now gone to break in more roads and build more bridges in the next world, I salute one of the Coasts legends and a true gentleman and pioneer of the modern coast times.
