Diane Wilson ( nee Kirk).
December 8, 2024
As a 19 year old, unchurched, unsaved girl, Loyal married me to my husband , David Wilson , in May 1970.
In 1981 the Lord found me in our lounge, and I never been the same again or more grateful!
A few years after my salvation I found the tape of our wedding, and behold, Loyal had prayed for our salvation right there in the service!
I owe him a huge debt! As I was sitting in Church this morning his name came to mind. I have now put his name in google and found this site!
We were married in Palmerston North, spent our child-rearing days in Napier, and now live in Brisbane.
I must add that we had never been to the Methodist Church before the occasion of our wedding , but recently found in my Grandfather's diaries that he attended the Methodist Church in Fielding !
I call this the faithfulness of our Amazing Lord in answering prayer unknown to us , to bring us into His Kingdom.
And , I´m SO glad He used Loyal in this process!
Thank you for posting this funeral notice , about an incredible man of God. We will all see him again.
Bless you all. Xx

Throughout the many years since I first met Loyal my love and respect for him grew. He was simply the finest of men - full of wisdom, compassion and human decency. I am but one of the thousands who have been touched by Loyal, and I'm so grateful for having known him.

Sad to learn of Loyal's death, though 96 is a very good age! His family Iived just around the corner in Riccarton when my father was minister of the Riccarton circuit. He had moved away, but later I came to appreciate his encouragement in my efforts to rethink Christian faith in and for a secular age. My sympathies to all his family.

Anne and I are most sorry to learn of Loyal´s passing. In the 1960´s, `70s and `80s we were one of the Methodist families in Palmerston North and were in regular contact with Loyal, June and their family. We thought highly of Loyal´s leadership and style of ministry and his ability to steer the Methodist community through many challenges. I was pleased to work with him on councils and boards of the NZ Methodist Church, to which he brought a sound, reasoned, insightful and respected contribution. We loved his sense of humour. He was a true friend.
We send our warmest greetings to the family and express our deepest sympathy in your loss.

We are saddened by the news of Loyal's death. Over the years he was a dear friend and colleague and we did enjoy the many times we stay with him and June in Palmerston. We send our love and greetings to Loyal's family,
