When the subjects come up, I often quote Laurie about skydiving "I don't see the sense of jumping out of a perfectly good aeroplane", motorcycles " They are great if you can live long enough to learn to ride them", and horses " Falling off doesn't hurt, but it's a bit uncomfortable hitting the ground".
I have many fond memories of times with Laurie including a trip in the truck collecting horses down the coast, and visiting the Alex gold mine.
Condolences especially to Mum ( Helen), Pauline, Dianne and Vernon, and Families. Though separated by the sea, I am very much with you today in spirit.

Deeply saddened to hear of Uncle Laurie's passing. I especially enjoyed listening to his stories, yarns and jokes. Helen would often tell us about "when your uncle was younger" so we got double the pleasure. She also told us about about the boxing in the house at Totara Flat and showed us the bullet hole under the front door step. Thanks for all the lessons and wisdom, You will be fondly remembered with a smile and half a tear. RIP.
Heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
