WORDS IN HONOUR OF A CLOSE FRIEND:

"Kia ora Phil - Nlkki & Sarah and all your "Whanau" everywhere".

I join with you in the loss of your Dad - my good friend and a "Brother in Arms" to hundreds through his service to New Zealand in the NZ Defence Forces via the RNZAF. Then his ongoing considerable contribution to business in Canterbury over many decades where he continued to help many people. Myself included in sport, in the military, as my employer and lifelong close friend.

He was a very good person to all he meet throughout his life, be that, in sport where he excelled in rugby-cricket and squash, be that, in his command of these he was in charge of in the military, be that, in his business as a good employer to those he employed.

I feel his loss greatly as we had a long-time positive friendship that exceeded more than 50 years. I along with many others will mourn his passing. Until his medical condition in which he needed to reside at the "Charles Upham Rest Home" he had enjoyed a good and successful life.

"Ka pai - Ka pai my friend Lyn, my aroha is for you in your passing. Plus my aroha to all your "Whanau" you have left in your passing and my sincere condolences to them all. You have left so many fine people behind so your memory will always be with them plus those who respected you in your life´s endeavours".

"Rest in Peace", "taku 'e' hoa Lyn". John H.

Great all round sportsman, rugby cricket and squash. Inspirational team Mate, tough as tungsten. Many memories on and off the field. Farewell my friend.

Lyn was a very special person in my life. While in New Zealand, he was like a father, offering assistance, advice, and support without question. He tried his best to teach me the art of "Cricket", but alas, "yanks" weren't meant to play cricket. Sending many hugs and much love to the family. While his physical presence will be missed, my memories of my time around him will remain forever. Much love......
