Leslie THURLOW Obituary

On Thursday, February 6, 2025, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Beloved partner of Adrienne for 34 years. Loved father of the late Cushla. Much loved by his close family Gwynn and Anna, Grandad Lum of Ollie, and Bella, and loved uncle of Tony, Mark, and Michelle, and their families. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Les Thurlow, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. The memorial service for Les will be held at the Naval Point Yacht Club, Erskine Point, Lyttelton, on February 23, at 2.00pm. In accordance with Les' wishes, a private cremation has been held.

I first met Les when I started sailing with his father in the Flying Dutchman at the yacht club at Lyttelton in 1968. While I worked at the Harbour Board I would see Les from time to time. After leaving the Port our paths never crossed. I have fond memories of of Les - cheerful and friendly.
