Liz was a great colleague when we worked together at the Riccarton Borough Council in the mid 1980's and later at the CCC. She had a great empathy towards her co- workers and customers and was a good friend during those years. I'm sorry I hadn't found the notice of her passing earlier as it would have been a privilege to attend her celebration service last week. My condolences go out to Neil, Grant, and Roanne who I got to know though Liz in their teenage years. I'm sure she will be sorely missed. Rest Well. Lyall and Jillian Matchett

Dear Lizzie,
It is so hard realizing our dear friend has passed.
What an inspiration you were never did you say or feel sad or say "Why Me" as you fought cancer.
Terry and Liz were in the same class all through Lauriston primary school. We go back a long way. Liz going back to Training College, me to Dental school on the Sunday night bus before having said goodbye to our boyfriends.
We then both ended up at Lyndhurst school you the teacher me the dental nurse. Both of us married about the same time, had our children about the same time and many hours were spent together. Our men enjoyed many a trip to Lake Coleridge for the opening of fishing. Many a tale can be told of that time!
Liz you had to face tragedy with your dear Stu´s cancer, again you showed great strength.
Neil came into your life, together you united the two families with much love.
Together you built and sold homes with such excitement, always looking ahead.
Lizzie you were always there for me, --a listening ear. Thank you. Terry and I will miss this true and exceptional friend.
Rest well our dear Liz.

Maybe death
Isn´t darkness, after all,
But so much light
Wrapping itself around us
As soft as feathers
