Farewell Leo, you were a truly inspiring man, one 'out of the box', who will greatly missed. For me it was also about his childhood connections to my father Patrick and my uncles and aunts who grew up with Leo in those tough character-building times of the 30s and 40s. It was a real priviledge having him around and knowing him. Sincerest condolences to Colleen and the Fitzgerald family. Mike OC and the O'Connells in Sydenham

Colleen and Family - So sad to learn of our school friend's passing into God's hands. He brought a lot of fun into our early years, both at school days and also our social life at dances. Fondly remembered, John and Mary Stuart, Auckland.

Sad to hear of Leos passing. He was a great next door neighbour. A great man for a conversation and an inspirational character who enjoyed life through taking on all sorts of interesting challenges. I loved seeing him out on the road keeping himself young and fit. I'm sure he will be greatly missed by many. I'll sure miss this real character!
