Leo CHRISTEY Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, aged 90 years. Dearly loved husband of Leonie, much loved father and father-in-law of Graeme and Deanne, Andrew and Louise, Phillip and Anne, and Kathryn and Ross, Granddad of Kieran, Ryan and Tyler; Mark and Sarah; Ella; and Hannah and Daniel. The family would like to thank the staff of Ward A8 for the exceptional care given to Leo. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Leo Christey, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. We will be celebrating Leo's life at Southbridge Town Hall, Southbridge, on Saturday, September 13, at 2.30pm. Leo attended the dental practice I work at and he was one of my beloved patients! Always up for a chat and a laugh, what a wonderful man I was lucky to cross paths with.

I always loved bumping into Leo and having a chats with him on my walks around Prebbleton Domain. Leo was full of fun, was a real character who's warmth and gift for a good yarn will be missed by many - the Prebbleton community is richer for having you, rest in peace.
