Too soon, too sudden and your gone! Precious memories are left to cling to. Thank you my dear friend for all the wonderful experience we have shared on all our cruises from a group Alaska Cruise in 2002 where we first dipped our toes into the waters of cruising together followed with the excitement of the rest of our travels together with Romy and Jovy and finally on Sept 2017 the Rhine River Cruise where you were always happy and looking radiant. Memories keep coming back to the very last travel moments where we sat beside each other in the plane coming home; still together as we dropped you & Romy off from the airport to your condo and then seeing you again after the 7:00 pm Sunday mass last Sept 3. We hurriedly parted, so jet-lagged & tired that we missed to hug each other, thinking that we will be together again the following Monday. But just one day after our travel, you were gone.
Jovy and I had the privilege of spending your last days with us each day for breakfast, lunch, dinner, tours, etc. until Sept 3. How I miss my dear, beloved travel companion. I will not hold you back; I freely let you go to our loving Creator, where there are no boundaries or limitsjust unending happiness. My prayers and memories will forever be with you.
Thank you, Lani for being a true friend and wonderful travel companion,

Today, we pay respect to our dear friend Leilani Robles Santillan and give support to Romy, her loving husband, to their 2 daughters Denise and Lesley and their respective families.
Thru Worldwide Marriage Encounter, Lani and Romy were one of the first friend we met when we came to Vancouver. We are 5 couples who formed a Love Circle group.

Over the years, we developed that special bond of friendship until now. Together, we laugh at happy moments, we celebrate joyful moments and we cried at sad moments in our lives.
Lani is the organizer. She would plan the group's activity, be it a camping trip, a trip to the border, a cruise or just spent time and enjoy each other's company.

Lani's helpful and caring personality is a perfect match for her job as a Medical Technologist. She is very patient and compassionate to her patients. For this, she had met a wide range of friends thru her job.
Lani was diagnosed of breast cancer , but she had fought this courageously and being a positive person she had looked forward to that day that she will beat the disease . And she did.
Lani is one person whose passion is to travel. Actually, she just came from a European River cruise 2 days before she had met the fatal accident.
Lani is a person full of surprises. But sad to say, with pain and sorrow, her biggest surprise to us all, is the manner and sudden way she left us for good. We are not only surprised but deeply shocked and only time can heal us. We can only offer solace to one another knowing that she has now joined our Creator.
We will greatly missed you Lani but you will always have a special place in our hearts.

To Santillan Family,

I could not express enough how truly sorry i am to learn of Lani's unfortunate accident. As sad and difficult it is you can take comfort from knowing she'd lived a full life and left behind many beautiful and memorable memories that you can look back to. She is looking down on you and deep within you'll feel her presence in spirit to help and gude you.

Lani had a very good heart and did the extra mile to help our family settled in when we moved to Coquitlam many years ago. We lost touched along the way when we moved away to the Caribbean and to the U.S. but always thought of you all.

It is unfortunate that we meet again under this circumstances. And if not for one of Lani's former co-worker at Bio Lab who happened to be my brother-in-law's cousin who saw the news on TV and told my siser, I would not have known.

Please accept our condolences to the whole family. We will pray for the repose of Lani's soul and may she rest in peace.
