L'Estrange BARKER Obituary
L'Estrange Prudence:
On July 22, 2017, peacefully, in her 86th year. Loved daughter of Harold Studholme and Shirley L'Estrange Barker, fondly remembered cousin to the Barker, Burdon, Weston, Hope, Clark-Hall, Grigg, Jenkins, Nolan, Chalmers, Smith, and McCredie families, and proud godmother to many. Highly respected within the world of antique furniture, silverware, and china. A special thank you to Dr Marchand, the staff of Bishopspark, and latterly Silverdale Hospital for their many years of care, kindness, and support. In lieu of flowers, donations to Christchurch City Mission would be appreciated and may be made at the service. A Funeral Service for Prudence will be held in Knox Presbyterian Church, 28 Bealey Avenue, Tomorrow (Friday), at 3.00pm.

Cousin Prudence was a great traveller, and we enjoyed her many visits here to Scotland, staying with us between 1967 and 2002. We also much appreciated her kind hospitality when we came out to New Zealand. Many fond memories.

Very sad news about Prudence. I am one of her Scottish cousins, Rosie Hope (nee Studholme). Remember Prudence with great affection and loved hearing all about her travels as loved travelling myself. The last time I saw Prudence was, I think, in 2006, when my husband Jim and I, visited Christchurch on our way round New Zealand. She was in fine form and we all went out for dinner together. Rest in peace Prudence.
