Kay McCULLOUGH Obituary
McCULLOUGH, Kay Marie:
July 1, 1939 - August 9, 2018
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kay, after a long heroic battle with cancer. Loving mother of Tracey and Clare (Robert), Grandie to Peter, Mackenzie, Delaney, Erika and Traci. Sister to Paul and Robyn (Peter). Mum-in-law to Terry and Aunty to many nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by her husband William McCullough in 1986 and is remembered by Tracey and Clare's father James Scanlon. Kay was a warm, loving, kind-hearted person who enjoyed the occasional glass of Chivas Regal and was always the life of the party. Kay touched many people over her lifetime. Many thanks to the staff at Anthony Wilding who treated Kay with kindness and compassion during her final month. Special thanks to Dr. Rob Seddon-Smith, whose care went above and beyond, and to Dr. Brendon Anderson. Most special thanks must go to Kay's dear friend Fay Hodge, who was with Kay through thick and thin helping her navigate her illness with grace, dignity and love.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on the snow;
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.
For everything beautiful that you see
Will bring a lasting memory of me.
