Age 91, December 25, 2004. Beloved husband of Ruth H. Dear brother-in-law of Gordon and Janet Sansburn of Windsor, Ontario and Barbara Sansburn of Harrow, Ontario. Loving uncle and great uncle of nieces and nephews in Powell River, British Columbia, Harrow and Windsor, Ontario and Sandy Hook, Connecticut. Born in Detroit, Michigan on February 11, 1913. Son of the late James E. and Alice L. (nee Christy) Chavey. Served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II where he was stationed at McClellan Field, California, as Assistant Chief, Civilian Payroll Branch. Graduated from Chrysler Institute of Technology. Following graduation, he established Chavey Insurance Associates and later worked as an accountant at various companies in the Detroit area. Greatly enjoyed playing the trumpet with the Franklin Village Band for the past 12 years. Taught Bible School at churches in the Detroit area, most recently at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Livonia, MI. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorial Service on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, 27475 Five Mile Road, Livonia, MI, (734) 422-1470. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
