15.11.47 – 23.11.24

Died peacefully at home on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Adored wife of Steve for 55 years; wonderful mother and mother-in-law of Jonny and Lyndal, Jane and James; devoted Granny-Kate of Kieran, Zoe, Clara, Arlo, and Saskia; much-loved sister and sister-in-law to John and Rose, Lesley and the late Paul, and Tim; special aunt and great-aunt to the Langley and Lewis nieces and nephews; beloved friend to many, both here and overseas; and a teacher who made a lasting impact on hundreds of lives. Special thanks to Amy Holmes and the haematology team at Christchurch Hospital, the team at Nurse Maude, and her GP Nadia Schwass. A celebration of Kate's life will be held at 2.00pm on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Multicultural Community Centre (the old Canterbury Netball centre), 455 Hagley Avenue. I have just heard about Kate's passing. I am so sorry that you and many others have lost a very special person. I have fond memories of our times together for several years.
