I was so sad to hear of Karina's passing on, but am rejoicing that she is now in heaven, free from pain and all earthly worries in the presence of her Loving Saviour and Heavenly Father. I first met Karina, when we went tramping together in January 1996, doing the Routeburn Track and then a few subsequent tramps over the next 2 or 3 years. I was from Nelson and joined in with her ChCh tramping friends. Karina was such an encouragement to me at that time and I will never forget her words of wisdom, that I have shared many times with others too. Thank you, Marshall's, for giving her such a wonderful family life of belonging and caring. Thinking of you all, Loving sympathy Lois Freeman (Young; when I tramped with Karina.)

Rest in peace dear Karina, you were ready to go home. Condolences to further family and your many friends. we are thankful for your recent phone call and memories. The meal together with Dianne and the time I pickup you up from Knox. We always could have a good laugh. Go well and see you again one day

This news has shocked me. I was aware that I hadn't seen her at the Cathedral the last two Sundays but didn't ask anyone at this time of transition about her. I cannot attend the funeral but my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. I guess we should be happy for her as she reconnects with Les....
