Dear Neal and family,
Our thoughts are with you and your family. We are incredibly grateful to have met Karen when she so openly welcomed me and my parents into your home - and life. We carry these beautiful memories in our hearts as we mourn her on the other side of the globe and remember the memories made possible by the generosity of Karen & family. She provided a sanctuary filled with laughter, home-cooked meals and music, and paved the way for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure traveling New Zealand - an experience that continues to shape my path until today. We wish you all strength, hope and positive thoughts during these difficult times.

To Neil, Melanie & David, Nathan & Alicia and families
Appropriate words fail us to adequately express our heartfelt sorrow at the loss of your much loved wife, mother, mother-in-law, nana and more. Karen touched the lives of everyone who came into contact with her, for the better. She lit up a room with her smile. She was open and giving of her time. She loved God and she loved all of you....and it showed. We know you will miss her tremendously, that's what happens when people so loved leave us, but it's the ultimate testament to the person she was, and is still in our hearts and minds where she will always live. Our thoughts, prayers and love are very much with you all. Andrew, Michele and family

Dear Neil, Melanie, Nathan and families , we are incredibly shocked and sad to hear of the passing of Karen. May God be with you in every moment and may the thought that one day you will see her again give you some comfort. Even though right now that must seem to far away. Karen taught both of my daughter's. She was always caring and enthusiastic about her teaching and definitely deserves the gold star teacher status that my girls have given her, and let's not forget all the thousands of birthday cakes that she had baked through the years! She will be sorely missed and our thoughts are with her family at this sad time

Our family have had the privilige of knowing Karen through our time at Hoon Hay School. Fynn was lucky enough to have Karen as his teacher in year 3, and she claimed the title of "one of the best", he remembers Karen coming to watch him play rugby one Saturday morning and making each child in her class a cake for their birthday. Karen was such a caring, nurturing and supportive teacher to all her students. Our condolonces to Karens family in this difficult time.

Our school community is deeply saddened to lose a treasured teacher, colleague and friend. Karen's contribution to our school was immense and we are grateful to have known her and worked alongside her. Karen enriched our lives. The hundreds of children she has taught, and their families, will never forget her and the impact she has had on their lives. The teaching profession has lost a shining star.

My son was lucky enough to have Karen as a Year 3 teacher a few years ago. Mrs France was loved by all the children....not only was she a kind, caring teacher, back then she was known as the teacher that would make every child in her class a chocolate cake for their birthday. She also turned up on a Saturday to one of my son's rugby games to watch him and a few of his classmates....above and beyond what would be expected from any normal teacher. Such a lovely, smiley lady who will be sadly missed by many xxx
