Aroha to family

Although we expected that Karel should pass away, it still comes unexpeted. When he and Eugenie visited us this autum on their way fron Hanmer Springs, he told of his problems when he left and we felt this was a last goodbye. We hope he did not have to much pain and wish Eugenie all the 'sterkte' she needs these days and in the future and our door is always open.

Our sincere condolences to Eugenie and the family. Although we met Karel only once in The Netherlands, we will remind him as an interesting, friendly and strong person. We wish you all possible strength in the coming time.

Dear Guido and all of the Adriaens family, We are extremely saddened to hear of the passing of your dear father and accept our thoughts to you and all of the family. I have many fond memories of your Dad and visiting your family home from our school days back in the 80's. A memory that sticks in my mind is sleeping on the couch in the beautiful big lounge prior to a ski trip and hearing the many BIG clocks chiming on the hour every hour!! We were always made to feel welcome at your parents home. Although our paths have drifted away your family are often in my thoughts and please know that you are in our thoughts at this time. Unfortunately due to my family commitments I can probably not attend the funeral on the 16th ( my daughters 21st) but extend our thoughts to you and all your family xoxoxox Regards Michelle Gregory (Nelis)

Dear Adriaens family, I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. There are some people you just expect to never get old and always be there- he was one of them. Still remember the exciting New Year's Eve parties growing up, canoe rides, lights, food,and heaps of laughing- fantastic memories! Karel had the best laugh and will indeed be so missed. My thoughts are with you all.

We're sorry to hear that Karel passed away.
We've got very good memories of him and the visits he and Eugene paid us in Roden.
And in my memory I will always hear him say:"say something in Frisian to me!".

We are so sorry to hear today that Karel has passed away. Our deepest sympathy to Eugenie and the family.

Mr Adriaens was my first employer when we came to New Zealand in 1968. He always helped us with words of encouragement and a sincere interest in our wellbeing. We realise that Eugenie and family will miss him greatly, but we all will miss his presence. It was so good to have him in our midst at the Coffee Club on a Saturday morning at Van Dam's. Vrouwkje and I would like to use this space to show our sympathy to you all.

On behalf of the Rinckes Family: Many sympathies to all the family. We all loved "Uncle Karel" as we were brought up to call him. I will try to attend the funeral on Friday to see you all in person. My thoughts are with you all at this sad time.
