I´ve know June for 19 years.. I met her as a Golf professional travelling around north Canterbury teaching golf to women. She was so passionate about encouraging new people to the game and in subsequent years she had done this same with bowls. She had a heart of gold and I´ll miss her enthusiasm and I´m sure the Cheviot district will to.

To Murray and family, Sorry we cannot be with you today. June will leave a mighty legacy within the Cheviot district with all her involvement in so many organisations. I had the pleasure of being on the Museum committee with June and her local knowledge was invaluable. RIP June.

June was an absolute stalwart of Hurunui bowls. A past president, women´s selector, senior umpire and ladies match convener are but a few of her roles. All bowlers in the area, past and present, owe June a great debt.

Very sorry to hear of June´s passing.
I remember coming over to swim in the pool on hot summer days when staying at Granny and Grandad´s (Elliotts) place. June was always kind and welcoming.
She was a kind neighbour and supportive friend to Granny over many years and I know how much Granny (and our family) appreciated her valued that. We also appreciated her patience with Bing, Granny and Grandad´s wee dog turning up on her doorstep every 5 minutes!!!
Thinking of all June´s family at this time. May she rest peacefully.

June was my oldest female cousin and one I always admired and respected. What wonderful memories I have of our visits to the farm at Ethelton and the fun and games interlaced with June's Grandad Steven's homemade lemonade and chocolate. Holidays spent with June's family at Gore Bay are wonderful childhood memories - swimming, constructing sandcastles playing tennis and visiting the nearby lolly shop! June spent quite a few weekends at our family farm at Cust during her years at Christchurch Girls' High. Being nearly 5 years old I idolized her as she was an outstanding athlete, netball and tennis player. I so much wanted to be as good as June. She remained someone I esteemed so highly. She was friendly, loyal, compassionate, a leader by her actions and someone who people could turn to when needed. I am proud to be her cousin and I already enjoy seeing her legacy being lived out in the lives of her extended family. The impact June has had on her family, friends, relations and community is immense and appreciated.

This is very sad. June - a lovely woman.... one in the district whom I have always admired... she was that bit older than me as i grew up: calm, switched on, level, gracious, pretty, valuing of others, unpretentious, real, quite a beautiful human being. Cheviot needs more people like June. What a sad loss.
