June was a brilliant, knowledgeable, inspiring Baha'i teacher who had the wisdom, humility and tact to connect deeply to people of all ages, races and backgrounds. Her genuine curiosity and interest in learning, along with her humour led to endless happy conversations. In the 35 years I have known her, I have always felt blessed to spend precious time with June.
In October 2021 June visited Nelson, and met my mother, a Dutch immigrant to New Zealand, and they shared beautiful stories of their younger days and found similarities in their experiences.
Much loved and missed.

June was cherished and beloved by her family, her friends, and her sorors of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She traveled around the world teaching the Baha´i faith. Although she didn´t have any birth children, she loved her children by marriage and her Baha´i spiritual children in Washington, DC, USA. She will be sorely missed.

I will never forget meeting June in Portugal in the summer of 1973. She was so resilient and fearless. She helped me so much and was so kind as I dealt with the necessary red tape to
get a visa to Cape Verde. My prayers go out to her family and I offer special prayers for the progress of her luminous soul.

Sharing very fond memories from some 50 years ago in Portimao, Portugal. June was a shining light and inspiring woman who welcomed everybody. She was an active and dedicated Bahá'í pioneer and will continue to inspire from the Kingdom!
