Some people r just born with a beautiful soul.
Julie was one of these people.
Honest, unassuming, practical, consistent, reliable, thougthful and kind and just to throw interest in the mix a great sense of humour, personality and dry wit and when she was being humorous you could not help but break out into grins all around.
Although I originally met Julie at Teschmakers Collage I actually got to know her when I worked up around Christchurch in our teenage years.
I stayed at Julies quite a bit and Julie and the family were always very hospitable and it was always very easy to feel at home because although Mic was always busy working at the pub the kids and Mary were a real family.
I still to this day can hear Julies sister Kate' s infectious laugh and amused look when Julie was being silly just like it was yesterday.
My deepest sympathy Kate and Michael and all the Coughlan and extended Couglan family.
All I can say is my life was certainly made richer because Julie is a friend of mine.
My only regret is to of never told her but as long as we hold these memories and take up the special attributes ourselves that Julie showed us the Couglan Spirit will go on!!!

I remember Julie so well from my third form year at School as she was always kind to me. She was bright, bubbly and always happy. May she rest in peace.

I read this news with sadness for someone so bright, fun loving and well loved by her friends from Teschemakers. It is true that where ever the years may find us, we do remember. Our prayers are with your family.

Julie was the super-cool, bubbly friend of my older sister whom I admired. She amused our family with some outrageous, funny stories. Thanks to modern technology and social media I renewed friendship with her a couple of years ago and chatted over a few months. She clearly loved her family. It was so sad to hear of her passing. She was a lovely person.

I was at Teachemakers with Julie and shared many memorable moments with her. She was a special person with a kind heart and genuine empathy for others. She was so nicely mischevious!! She loved her family hugely back then and I know that she was loved right back. I am sad that she is the first of us 1976 Teschemakers girls to 'go' and I hope that she is at peace & that her family find peace in her passing.
