My sincere sympathy to the whanau; I was very touched by the tributes at the funeral and thought how lucky Julie was, to have known her grandchildren growing up....
Everyone will always remember Julie's careful appearance - just like her mother. Even at school, she always managed to look immaculate!
But my strongest memories relate to when Julie and Barry were engaged. The only couple I know who had bought their section when they announced their engagement. Warwick designed their home, the family firm built it and the newly-weds moved straight in. What a wonderful start - it says such a lot about setting goals, priorities, family support and commitment.
But all the pre-wedding kitchen showers were something else! As one of Julie's bridesmaids, with her sister Jen, I think I went to them all - and it was hard to keep up! Families arriving with cartons of groceries - while my contributions were more like a jar of marmalade, potato peeler and a box of matches!
Sadly, after we had all married, our lives led us in different directions, and eventually we only met at school reunion events. But I will never forget Julie and Barry.... And I am sure you will all have many wonderful memories to carry forward in your lives ahead.

Our sincere sympathy to you all. We have such fond memories of being in Julie´s company. She had such a sense of warmth about her and was always interested in your life. My parents (Maureen and Tony Broome) were very fond of her I know. Julie was a classy and gentle woman with a gorgeous sense of style. She and Barry´s company always brightened a room. Thinking of you at this sad time.
