Judy Koontz Spence Obituary

Judy Marie Koontz Spence, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday December 7, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN. She was born on February 2, 1949, in Daviess County, to the late Huey and Mary Williams Koontz. Judy was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church. She worked for many years at Sears and Robuck Co. and later at U.S. Bank. Judy enjoyed watching TV and visiting with friends and family.

Her gentle spirit, easy smile, and genuine kindness made her someone people were simply grateful to know.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Gullet.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 35 years, Terry Spence; sons, Jim (Lottie) Hamilton and Joe Hamilton of Owensboro; a sister, Shirley Koontz; nieces, Kim Eisenmenger, Mary Ruth Cravens, Lisa Bell, and Tammy Hayden; and her grandchildren, Justin Hamilton, Logan Hamilton, Ryan Hamilton, Krystal Donnell, Vanessa (Gilbert) Whittaker, Summer Trogden, and Chase (Sarah) Trogden.

The funeral service for Judy will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Eddie Duke officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 until time of the service at the funeral home.
