Thank you Heather for putting the obituary in the Teviot Bulletin. Owen and Margaret used to visit us, staying with us in the Commercial Hotel on their nostalgic visits `home´. Owen used to go rabbiting, fishing and visiting his high apricot orchard, and told us stories of his youth. A kind, caring man. I´m sorry we had lost touch and send you our sympathy on your loss of both parents. God bless you all. (PS Caithness is no longer a working orchard- trees gone.)

Owen was a dearly loved cousin and our families were very close. I have great memories of both Owen and Margaret who was a dearly loved cousin friend from schooldays. My deep condolences to you all. I am so sorry I was not able to make it to Christchurch. I know he will be greatly missed by you all. May God´s peace be with you.
With love, Catherine Dickie.

Sad to hear of Owen Young's passing. As a child and young person I spent many happy times in the Young family home, as I am a close friend of Jill. Mr Young was always friendly, fun and kind. He was a very special person. I also worked for him in the school holidays when I was about 14 or 15. I later went on to train to be an accountant myself after this experience. Lots of love to all the family.

Owen, as I knew him, was a remarkable man. He was my accountant for many years before his retirement. I will remember him as humble man, solid in his advice, and thorough in his work. After retirement he was secretary to my father´s charitable trust. This is something he did without any recompense. He was a true gentleman. My sympathies to his family. Sir David Carter.

My sympathy to you in your loss - and also that of your mother not long ago. My first job was with Y&H and it was a very happy time. One Christmas there was a box of chocolates and Mr Young said that I and the other staff member could have half each - so he put it on the office guillotine and cut it in half! He also taught me to drive his automatic car - which was a bit traumatic as it was brand new - however I didn't damage it!! No doubt you have many happy memories. Best wishes Leigh
