John SHIVAS Obituary
John Michael Kenneth:
Passed away peacefully on May 15, 2022, at Tauranga Hospital. Treasured husband of Neawe. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Ross and Julie, Wayne (dec), Pauline (dec), Gavin and Mary, Jennifer (dec), Lynne, Paul, and Michelle. Adored uncle to all of his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. A service for John will be held at Legacy Gardens, 53 Te Okuroa Drive, Papamoa, on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 10.30am. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Tauranga Hospital for their care and kindness to John and the family. John called them his "earth angels".

I'll sure miss your smile, cheekiness and banter at running club John. I so loved how you were always up for a chat and your determination was incredible.

Yery sorry to learn that Johnnie has passed away.
Bought back many great memories of running around the city, the Port Hills and further afield.
Johnnie was always a great guy and gentleman, that was until he was competing, where he became competitive, and on numerous times as he strode by, would enquire what was taking so long, or a prompt to get on with the run.
But he was always there at the finish line with encouragement and banter, and was always on for a bit of socializing.
Its been a pleasure to have known Johnnie and to have run in his company, one of the good guys.

A great brother in law and also a true friend. Always there for advice and leadership whilst I was growing up. Along with many memories I´ll never forget how I thought I´d take you on running, thinking I was young and fitter, boy did you prove me wrong when you by passed me and Neawe had to come back and help me over the finish line.
