PRIDDY, John Frederick - On May 16, 2014, peacefully at Christchurch Hospital, aged 72 years. Dearly loved husband of Judith, much loved father and father-in-law of Stuart, Graeme and Lucinda, Bruce, and Julie and Darren, loved grandfather of Charlotte, Georgina, and Harriet; Mela, and Eva, loved brother and brother-in-law of Geoff and Jo, Robbie and Judith, Peter (deceased), Brian, Anne (deceased) and Max (deceased), Tim and Lynette (deceased), and a loved Uncle John of his many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Christchurch Hospital I.C.U. and Ward 23 staff for their care and support. Messages to The Family of the late John Priddy may be addressed to PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In lieu of flowers donations to the Lyttelton Sea Scouts would be appreciated and may be made at the service. A Service to celebrate John's life will be held in the Union Church, 44 Winchester Street, Lyttelton, Tomorrow (Wednesday), at 2.00pm.

Another gentle man, another son the Beloved Fred and Ailsa Priddy: If ever a couple had a quiver of better children I do not know it. Judith, so sorry for your loss. Tim, Robbie, Jeff, Brian, I'm so sorry for your loss too. John like your Mum and Dad was always kind to me as a kid whenever i played around your place. Much Love Patrick Chrisp. Just so you know, When acknowledging my faith heritage I ALWAYS pay tribute to your Dad, and your Mum was one of two women whom as I kid i brought a specialy bought souvenir back from Ireland for. Such was the love i found in your house. :)

John was a 2nd father almost to me during my teenage years, being the father of one of my best friends at the time. The kindness that John and Judith showed by opening up their home to all of their children's friends always amazed me, you were always made to feel welcome. A kind man who did the best by people.
