Our three month adventure together in the mountains back in the early 1970's was a trip I have reminisced about often, I could not have wished for a better companion to have spent my time with. To live that amount of time together without so much as a cross word is indeed a rarity and a mark of true friendship. I feel privileged to have been able to share so many trips with a man I consider a true gentleman and in the end a true hero.

A great guy . I have been in unusual / dangerous situations on the tops with him by my side. Barry cool as ice. A better reliable more honourable fellow would be hard to find. He has had a great innings. Followed his sports of the outdoors and Cricket to the full. Will Miss you terribly. Peter Linda Trent Kurt Billington Sydney / Rangiora
