David Davis Obituary
David (Dave) William Davis, 87, passed away on November 16, 2025, in Santa Rosa, California.
Born on April 29, 1938 in Cleveland Ohio, Dave grew up in Palo Alto California after his parents moved there in 1944. He graduated from Palo Alto High School before continuing his education at Santa Rosa Junior College years later. The majority of his career was with Hewlett-Packard starting in 1964, where he built a long and dedicated career as a buyer. In 1974, he transferred to Santa Rosa to help open the HP plant there, playing a key role in expanding the company's presence in the region. He remained with HP until his retirement in 1999.
Dave had a deep passion for model railroading and was an avid supporter of railroad history. He was actively involved with the California State Railroad Museum Foundation and spent countless hours immersed in his hobby. His love for travel, camping, and history led him and his family across the country to explore numerous U.S. National Parks-an endeavor that brought him great joy and fulfillment.
Dave is survived by his sister, Lynne; ex-wife and friend Shirley; sons John (Deborah) and Brad (Matt); grandchildren Taylor, Austin, and Alyssa; and great-grandchildren Aubrey and Kinlee.
A private celebration with friends and family will be held at a later date. Donations in Dave's name can be made to the California State Railroad Museum Foundation.
