Passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, just before "kick off", at the age of 80 years. Beloved son of the late Alf and Lou, and cherished husband of the late Hazie. Devoted Dad and great mate to Janey and Slade, Em and Hendy and very proud Pop of Jonny and Harry. Loving owner of Buster the cat. A devoted life member of the Timaru Celtic Rugby Club, he was a great friend and "hard shot" to those that knew him. A celebration of John's life will be held on Thursday, September 26, at the Sacred Heart Basilica, Timaru at 12.30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart Foundation. To John's Family; My deepest sympathy is with you all at this time. "Colt" was a great guy having met him when playing for the Celts in the 60s and enjoying many ales over the years since. He will be missed. Unfortunately I cannot attend the funeral but my thoughts are with you all.
